Hygiene awareness is one of the most effective ways to protect ourselves and others from diseases. This awareness is very less in poor and uneducated society.
Our volunteers run campaigns to create awareness and teach benefits of cleaning hands, body and surroundings. People are taught to be careful while coughing or sneezing and cleaning things that they touch while they are ill.
We catch infections like colds and gastroenteritis when we put our unwashed hands, which have germs on them, to our mouth or if dirty hands touch the food we eat.
Awareness about personal hygiene in women is our top priority. Women in underprivileged communities are supplied tampons and sanitary napkins regularly by our volunteers. They are taught to wash hands before and after handling a tampon or pad.
Good dental hygiene includes regular brushing and flossing. Regular dental checkup camps are organised to create awareness.
